Confidential Waste Management
Our management and control of collection, transporation and destruction of confidential material conforms to BS15713. All documents are destroyed by means of cross-cut shredding, so that the resulting material is unreadable, illegiable and unreconstructable. A certificate of destruction is issued for each consignment.

- scheduled collections, either weekly, fortnightly or monthly
- All sacks and seals provided free of charge

WEE Recycling
We offer all our clients the removal of all old electrical items free of charge, twice a year.
This is a service we provide as an additional service to help our clients keep their offices tidy and free of all electrical items that they no longer require.

The benefits are:

- We schedule the collections with our WEE Recycling Partner at a convenient time for our clients
- Items are taken away from the client’s premises, with no hassle
- A signed Recycling Certificate is issued to our client
- These items are recycled and do not end up in landfill
- This service costs the client nothing, except for the disposal of CRT monitors that require specialized disposal

Are we ready for the Flu this Winter?

It’s that time of year again when colds, coughs and flu rear their ugly heads. But, there are things you can do to reduce the chances of catching something nasty, or if you do have colds or flu, passing it on to others.

The key is to be prepared with a very good range of antibacterial hand gels, hand washes and wipes. This is particularly important in an office environment, where germs are easily spread on computer equipments and telephones. Air conditioning and office heating can spread the germs around.

Sarah Celebrates 5 years service at Shipshape Cleaning

On Monday 21st November, Sarah Elton our Business Development Manager, celebrated 5 years working for Shipshape Cleaning Company.

 

When Sarah joined the company, she was Office Administrator and the company was located at  Basepoint at the end of Lincoln Road.  Since then, the company has had a change of location to Anglo Office Park, a New Website, a New Brochure, Safe Contractor & ISO Accreditations, the Introduction of the Automated Timecard System, to name a few of the changes we have had in 5 years.

Sarah’s role has evolved since she started in 2006, and now Sarah manages Sales & Marketing for the company and is Shipshape’s Health & Safety Manager.

Dawn Parkes – Managing Director, presented Sarah with her 5 years service certificate, an engraved carriage clock, boxed pen and flowers.

Employing the Right People for your Cleaning Contract

We adopt a very thorough recruitment procedure. Any potential employee has to complete the following steps:-

Complete our full application form at the interview
Provide 2 work related references
Provide original proof of their national insurance number
Provide original proof of ID
Provide proof of their eligability to work in the UK

We take our responsibilities very seriously and check that all employees are able to work legitimately in the UK before employment and during our employment.

We have this procedure in place to follow employment law on employing staff and to keep your cleaning contract safe.

Upon the commencement of their employment with Shipshape, all cleaning staff are given a full  inducation specific to the site at which they are allocated to.  This includes a ‘practical cleaning workshop’, COSHH and Health and Safety Training.

We also use ‘best practice’ procedures of colour coding cloths, mops and equipment to ensure no cross contamination occurs.  This is a standard procedure that all cleaners must adopt from the start.

We have the highest cleaning standards within the industry.  All of our Staff  are monitored on a regular basis on site to ensure that they are consistently delivering a high standard of cleaning. We also carry out Quality Review Logs on all sites.  That way you get to see firsthand the results of inspection by our Management Team.  The reports are available for inspection by yourself, when we hold regular review meetings with you.

Every site has its own dedicated team to work solely on your contract.  They will know and understand the specific requirements and cleaning schedule.  Holidays are covered by fully trained staff who once again will know your contract.
